Cancer patient leaps to death from 12th floor of a Colombo private hospital

The Maradana police has reported an incident where a 50 year old cancer patient who was been treated at a private hospital had

jumped from the 12th floor and had met with his death succumbing to his injuries.

The person who committed suicide this way at around 7.10am on the  day before yesterday the 05th instant had been identified as a resident of Madiwela Talawatugoda by name MRSH Nugawela.

This person had been employed in Oman and had on returning to Sri Lanka admitted to a private hospital on the 27th instant for treatment of an ailment when the doctors have identified as having a cancer.

On hearing this on his medical report via sheer disappointment when his wife had gone to the canteen had taken this decision to commit suicide by jumping from a window of his room of the 12th floor.

Under the instructions of the officer in charge and the chief Inspector Sarath Perera investigations are been conducted.
