Paba reveals further details about second marriage

We revealed information about the second

marriage of Upeksha Swarnamali (Paba) in a previous article. She has revealed further information about it to a weekend newspaper this time.

"Will tell all particulars without telling the name of the bridegroom. I'll be getting married on January 24th. Though there was a talk that he was a politician, he's not a politician. He's a businessman. There's a difference of eight years between the two of us. It's a big strength to me. Our life .... as popular characters ... is very complex. Because of that, he has the ability of understanding my life well. He has given me a big helping hand for my political programmes. It was there that I came to know him. It was in the year 2001 that I meet him. Beyond that I had no special connection with him. But I see him as a good person. I took all decisions (specially the previous marriage, residing in Sri Lanka, giving up the Degree) of my life, with the hope that it will do good to me. But those things didn't come true that way. Those things went in different directions maybe because of fate, Karma or because of my foolishness. But this marriage I am entering into with great hope. It was not with a romantic attachment that I came to know him. The other thing is he took this decision after enquiring about me well. This is a proposed marriage. When he first asked me, it was after discussing with parties on both sides, getting the consent of my mother and checking the compatibility of horoscopes that this marriage has been arranged. I began to associate him only after the date of marriage was fixed. The earlier marriage was a five-year attachment. My mother showed her dislike. In the same way there was incompatibility where both our backgrounds were concerned. Everything was done with the intention of going forward ... bearing all that. But it didn't come right. Whatever it is, because of that marriage there was a big setback in our lives. It influenced my popularity. We even received the blessings of my mother. The family background is in line. To tell the truth ... I think that this is a decision I arrived at intelligently. Today ... I am tied two hundred percent to him in my heart. Now we're not in a childish state. The other thing is, he has really understood my capabilities and requirements.

Our wedding ceremony will be held at Kingsbury Hotel. Because everybody is eyeing this wedding, it's for that very reason that the wedding would be conducted in a simple manner. Only the engagement will be conducted.

Because it's my second marriage, I also feel that it's not necessary to create a big ha ho

about it. What I feel is that it would be enough if it is carried out in a traditional manner. Something must be done as a celebration also. The other thing is I feel that what is necessary is the legal aspect for an attachment. A few artistes will be invited. But even saying so .... it's difficult to make a selection. Whatever it is .... with great difficulty I invited a handful of artistes. In any case, I'll be inviting only 150 for my wedding. But on that day .... Akalanka won't be there.

A person becomes special to me only if he becomes a strength to me and points out my shortcomings.
