Though worked at Carlton ... gone 30 times abroad without informing
Story that Yoshitha Rajapaksa is to be taken to Naval Military Courts
A report has been published that Mr. Yoshitha Rajapaksa who is serving as an officer of the Sri
Lankan Navy is to be be brought before Military Courts.
It is reported that legal action has been levelled against him for having indulged in private activities beyond the scope of the Law of the Navy while holding an office of the Naval Forces during the past regime. It is the opinion of those engaged in the field of law that when holding position as the Chairman of a private Company, holding the position of Chairman at Carlton Sports Network is against the law.
Apart from that, though Yoshitha Rajapaksa was engaged in a number of overseas journeys during the past period, he had obtained no documentary permission at all for it from the Navy for which he had been serving, it is reported. It is understood that not even a Chief of the Navy is allocated such a special privilege. It has also been revealed that he had been abroad almost on 30 occasions without documentary permission. It is said that if these points are proved at the Military Courts, there is a possibility that punishment could be meted out to him.
