An occasion to commemorate one year of President Maithri's government was held

yesterday at the Bandaranaika International Memorial Hall last afternoon (8) in grand style.

It was a special feature to note that Sivaraj Jenigan who had tried to assassinate the present President in the year 2005 when he was the Minister of Health and was sentenced to jail by the courts too being present on this occasion. The President had taken steps to grant him Presidential Pardon sometime back and as such he too had stepped on to the stage yesterday.
