It's true I kissed saying "Umba ... machan" ....

but I loved Ranjan Aiyya only in the cinema

A book was published to the effect giving a clue about Ranjan's lover recently which said that a

certain actress with whom cinema star Ranjan Ramanayaka was having ideas of marrying had got married to another and had travelled overseas. What is mentioned in that book is that the popular actress Dilani Abeywardena is residing in New York, America and this was  a dialogue that  had surfaced among cinema fans. Dilani in fact has got married to Saman Pushpawarna who incidentally functioned as a singer for some time. She has a daughter and son. Dilani's daughter Kavisha Kavindi plays the role of the main actress these days in the film Machan Charlie. Therefore, Dilani and her daughter are presently remaining in Sri Lanka.

Sometime back Dilani had organised a queer birthday party with artistes and we were able to bring those photos of that party to you. At that function Ranjan who attended the party happened to change two dresses while one occasion when he kissed Dilani too was recorded on the camera lens. When questioned Dilani herself as to whether the lover whom Ranjan was not able to wed the lover residing in a foreign land which incidentally was one of the secrets which was not revealed in his life story; this is what she had to say.

"I loved Ranjan Aiyya only in films. In true life we were only two best of friends on a level where we used to address each other as 'Umba ... machan'.Those who were close to us of course knows about it", so saying she broke into a smile.
