Teacher from Ratmalana had jumped into Nilwala river in Matara with her child 

The Police is reported to be searching for a Mother in Matara area who had jumped into Nilwala river
from the Mahanama bridge with her baby.

The Police has suspected  as this could have happened as a travelling bag had been left on the Mahanama bridge and found on the previous night.in this connection the Navy and Police life saving units have been deployed to search for the bodies.

The Police has found out that the Mother is 35 year old and is a teacher attached to a school in the Borupona area in Ratmalana.The Police had been able to communicate with a relative of the Teacher via a number found from her mobile phone that was in her travelling bag.

Through this information the Police has found out that she had travelled to Matara with her 08 year old child.The Police is conducting investigations.
