Signs of Kusal Janith losing Cricket Status

Unofficial sources say that it has been proved positive that when checking the 'B' sample of a most aggressive batsman in the Sri Lankan Cricket team Kusal Janith Perera prohibited substances were
found in his body. Whatever it is, this has not been still officially announced.

Two samples are checked in the case of examining banned substances of a player when obtaining urine. One sample is initially subjected to examination. If it is seen that such a substance is present in it, the relevant player if he deems it necessary, could make a request that the balance 'B' sample be subjected to an examination. In fact, this examination too has been carried out in that manner. The only opportunity available for him to prove his innocence on a laboratory examination level in fact was that. Even in that sample it was confirmed that he had taken this prohibited substance. Under these circumstances, to a large extent he is quite liable to be banned from Cricket.

According to the opinion of International Anti Doping Authorities, if constituents of banned substances are detected in one's body, the relevant player it is that who first of all holds himself or herself responsible. In other words, as Kusal could not be rescued from punishment under this principle and if it actually is to be done, he is expected to challenge the methodology concerned when the sample secured from the player concerned is in the process of being taken to the laboratory (quoting its shortcomings) and proceed to prove his objection by appealing to an international sports settlement courts. Under these conditions what is left for Kusal is to approach the International Cricket Council and place his justified reasons in their presence and prove that this was not something done by him with any objective and on purpose in a manner that it had any influence where his playing abilities are concerned and thereby thus only lessen the penalty period imposed on him in relation to the ban enforced on him. If this is not carried out, Kusal would be forced to face the suspension from Cricket for a period of 4 years, to a large extent.

When the allegation about this ban was pronounced, Kusal Perera who had been on a competition-tour in New Zealand was immediately called back to the island. What he later said was that he suspects that the banned substance may have entered his body through a treatment he underwent because of a leech-bite.
