Photographing Sigiriya frescoes banned
The Director General of the Archaeology department has banned the photographing of the
Sigiriya frescoes form the 30th instant.
It had been seen and reported that a prominent notice had been displayed at the foot of the entrance near to the steps that photographing is prohibited. Those who had come to visit Sigiriya closely watched and followed by the security guards attached to the Archaeology department.
The tourists who attempt to take photographs are thus prevented by the security guards. The tourist guide had said that the old plaster that had fallen from the frescoes a few days ago have not yet been removed totally from the site until the 30th instant.
