Because of the Avant Garde issue chaos within the house

It is reported that when the  Chief Opposition whip Anura Kumara Dissanayake had raised the Avant Garde issue in Parliament the manner the Minister of Law and Order Tilak Marapona and the Minister of Justice Wijedasa Rajapksha had reacted had caused a terrific alarm and a chaos situation
had arisen at the cabinet meeting held subsequently.The cabinet spokesman ,Minister Rajitha Senaratna and Minister Rauff Hakeem had protested against the views expressed by Minister Tilak Marapona who had spoken to the fact that the Avant Garde operation was legal and there is no case as it was Police fiction only. 

In the meantime a number of other Ministers had added that on the 09th January this year the Managing Director of Avant Garde had attempted to meet the new President when the UNP stalwart from Galle district Vajira Abeywardena had made attempts to have to this meeting.This was a very incorrect and it  is a black mark for the government. In this regard they had all decided to make a request to President Maithripala Sirisena to make a statement on this.

The President had said that he denied this totally and confirmed that he had not met any Ministers on the allegation made. The Ministers had then asked the President to issue a statement to the media. To which the President had agreed. These Ministers had then had raised the issue on the Minister Tilak Marapona's disclosure to the Parliament where he had defended the allegations that had been directed to the Avant Garde floating armoury. At the time Minister Tilak Marapona was speaking in defence of his statement had even asked for a glass of water to quench his thirst.He had been given a bottle of water and until he  opened the bottle andfinished drinking the water he had refrained from speaking in giving reasons for defending the Avant Garde issue
