Western transport chief nabbed for accepting a bribe

A Transport Chief of western province nabbed while accepting a bribe 

For a private transport route permit along Colombo-Galgandawela road the route Manager of the private buses for the western region K.E.R Ranjith had been

nabbed while taking a bribe of Rs 10,000/= in order to issue a route permit to a businessman.. The incident had taken place on the 16th instant.

The arrest had been made at 12 noon on the 16th instant when the officials of the Bribery and Corruption unit had nabbed him after arriving at the place on a tip off.

It is learnt that after an advance payment of Rs 1000/- that had been given the balance payment of Rs 9000/ was to be accepted  by him from the businessman at the headquarters of the private bus authority office in Battaramulla.

One responsible office of the Bribery and corruption unit had added that he is to be produced before the Chief Magistrate soon.
