The Member of Parliament Vasudeva Nanayakkara has added that the real suspect in the rape and murder of Seya Sadewmi has now

been identified and had made a confession that the rape and murder was done by him.

However the Police in that area had taken a 17 year old student as a suspect and had remanded him .For the damage caused to his reputation and the obstacles he would have to face the police will have to pay compensation, the Member of Parliament had added.

In the event a person is taken into custody for any case he cannot be proved guilty of the offence.The media reports made on this arrest according the wrong findings of the police is a huge offence he had added. He had emphasised that on another case the father and sons had been remanded on suspicion. They too like this student had been subjected to a huge mental agony and stress.

Vasudeva Nanayakkara has quoted that on his charge after proved not guilty he is to face many obstacles when facing the public. Under these circumstances he had said there are possibilities that some other conflicts  to prop up he had quipped.
