Small child brutally killed ruthlessly

In the Athurugiriya Police division a resident of Panagoda,Kapurugoda area a ten year old child had been ruthlessly killed by severing his hands ,head from the body and

causing grievous hurt.

The parts of the  Childs body had been found in a watcher's cottage inside a quarry in Kapurugoda area had been found by the police

Kavindu Devinda Kapuruge is the name of the ten year old victim .He has been identified as a student of Panagoda, Sri Parakrama Maha Vidyalaya studying in grade five.

It is learnt that Kavindu's father is a labourer at a quarry in Kapurugoda..It is reported that Kavindu's father's brother is a owner of quarry and the body parts had been found inside the watcher's cottage in the same quarry.

It has not been revealed yet as to the reason why this ruthless killing had been made. The OIC of the Athurugiriya police station Sanjeewa Mahanama had received the information that the body of a child is lying in the watcher's hut within the quarry premises.

The OIC Sanjeewa Mahanama and his team had visited the watcher's hut when they had been able to find the body parts of the dead child. The police suspects that this brutal murder may have been made on the 25th instant between 10 am. and 11am.The police had also found a manna knife close to the body parts of the child and it is reported that the murderer had struck the head of the child with blows from the manna knife.

A team of police personnel had gone on a search for the watcher of the quarry and it is learnt that he is one who has been addicted heavily to drugs.

All investigations are been conducted under the supervision and purview of the Officer in Charge of the Athurugiriya police Sanjeewa Mahanama.
