A fish blood-bath on Balapitiya couple ....

 who behaved indecently on beach

An incident is reported of a couple of lovers who had for sometime been behaving immodestly near a two-storeyed house close to the beach in Balapitiya Area and who ultimately was subjected to a treatment of a fish blood-bath.

As reported, the incident is as follows: Though it is a common sight for most of those living in coastal areas in Sri Lanka to see lovers moving about on the beach, a certain couple had behaved in a rather immodest manner inside a shrub of screw-pine (wetakeiya) in an abandoned place close to this house in Balapitiya Area, outside limited bounds of behaviour. On most holidays this couple used to come there and would engage in kissing and used to cuddle each other and would even undress; thus behaving in a very indecent manner after which towards evening, would go away. This incident had come to the notice of those living in a nearby top-storeyed house. Though it appeared to be a spot hidden to those below, it was said that these scenes of indecent behaviour was best seen by those who come to the balcony of the said house. As a consequence, on a number of occasions when visitors happened to come to this house during weekends the householders have been inconvenienced because of these unwanted scenes taking place on the beach area. 

The elderly lady who was living in that house had tried to explain matters regarding this situation on a number of instances and in such instances the male lover had responded saying that they were in a common location and that the coast belongs to everybody. Also that they are not in a property belonging to the complainant and therefore to wait without worrying them.

About 3 weeks before this, this lady had wanted to once again sound them about this when the response of the lovers was that they are stationed on the beach. On that occasion when she had come to speak to them, they had gone to the extent of even putting up a display of kissing so that she would see all that. The lady who lost her temper over this had gone back to her house and had waited to see whether they would leave. However seeing that they did not, had then decided to take some action on this matter. On going to her kitchen she had noticed the bowl containing the removed fish-blood which was left when the fish were being cut for preparation that afternoon and she had then taken the bowl to the balcony and thrown it at the place where the couple were kissing each other. 

The couple who abruptly stopped their kissing and got up with the blood pouring on them had reprimanded the lady at which moment the lady had responded saying that she only threw the fish-blood to the beach. After this incident the lovers had left the place and it was reported that they had not stepped that locality even after weeks had passed by.
