Young woman stabbed to death while enjoying ‘drinks’ with a group

At around 10.30 p.m. yesterday, the 08 th Saturday near the Walauwatta area along Wedikanda road in Mt Lavinia. A young woman had been stabbed to death by another youngster.

This young woman had got ‘set’ to have drinks with another young crowd near to her residence. While they were enjoying the drinks the young woman had got involved with another youngster which had become very heated. The youngster had pulled out a Kris knife and stabbed her on her neck when he could not bear the affects of the severe argument.

In a short while she had succumbed to death. The suspect had immediately fled the scene. The dead body is now under the custody of the police. The suspect is known to those who took part in the drinking spree and his identity had been made known to the police.

The police are now searching for this lad who had fled the locality to arrest him to be produced to the Magistrate.
