WHO PLAYED THE DEVIL IN THE NUDE HAVING GONE TO BATHE IN THE 'OYA'
An incident where 4 male students and 1 female student of the Third Year of the Science and
Agriculture Faculty at the University of Peradeniya had gone to bathe at a small 'oya' close to Mahaweli River along Kalugamuwa Ceramic Corporation Road in Peradeniya had created a sensation among the villagers there was reported about a week before.
The villagers took steps to inform the police about them because these 5 students who had come on 3 motor cycles had consumed liquor there and had started taking photographs in the nude with all the villagers watching everything and thus they had being playing the devil, so to say. The villagers who heard about this were astounded to hear that these university students had been behaving in a queer manner like this and were even more surprised about the female student who voluntarily took off her clothes and posed for mobile telephone photos to be taken.
While some photographs that were published accompanied by a news item in yesterday's Sunday Island Newspaper by one 'Jasuri' as those taken by young fellows in the village who had wanted to capture the incident on photographs from the vantage point of the river bank were later even circulated across the internet media as well. However, it was later revealed in fact that the referred to photos were not those taken that day but which have been released to the internet after being taken in India by a popular French photographer called Loren Goldsen for the purpose of one of his creations.
