Special statement by the President to the nation

President Maithripala Sirisena had made a special statement over the electronic and other media after the conclusion of the general election 2015 at just past 9.10 p.m. He thanked everyone who helped to make this colossal even a resounding and a peaceful success.

He had attributed this success to the concept of good governance which was very well exhibited. He also made a plea to be calm and peaceful after the election results are released. One should take victory and defeat in the correct and true spirit without creating any chaos in the country.
