Rosy makes a firm request to the elections commissioner for recount as she leads the UNP losers list

After the general elections were completed and the most difficult to count the preferential votes
of the Colombo district candidates who contested. Popular candidate Rosy Senanayake headed the  list of  the loses list of the UNP. candidates. After the results were announced she had disclosed to the Daily mirror newspaper was that she has no regrets and the reason why she could not get more preferential votes was because her area in Colombo was restricted to Colombo West where the total number of voters were much fewer. The other reason was that the other colleague candidates did not like her to canvass form their divisions.

The candidates who polled more than above were Hirunika Pemachandra with 70584 votes, while Mano Ganeshan had polled 69,004 preferential votes while Rosy Senanayake was just behind the last two winners  with 65,320 preferential votes.

In this connection she has felt some suspicious about some foul play and had added to the 'Lankadeepa ' newspaper that she has requested  for a recount of her preferential votes from the elections commissioner. In this connection various mud slinging stories also had been published in several web sites.
