Majority of progressive Artistes are now with the JVP

The general secretary of the Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna Tilvin Silva while he was having a

discussion to a week end newspaper had revealed that there had been a cluster of film, stage drama,Tele drama and all other connected to these fields who were supporting the  former President Mahinda Rajapaksa in his previous election campaigns.

 However there had been a tremendous tendency for them to realise that they were not happy with the policies of both factions and many of the progressive artistes joined together and supported the common candidate Maithripala Sirisena to help him in becoming the President defeating Mahinda Rajapaksa policies.

According to the general secretary Tilvin Silva now many of those who were in the Mahinda Rajapaksa and Maithripala Sirisena factions have been convinced with the election manifesto of the Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna and majority of progressive artistes have decided to support them in the forthcoming general election for their proposed policies to be implemented.

Tilvin Silva had also said that even at the last moment progressive artistes are welcome to come to support the JVP. He also had added that even now they do not have a dearth of artistes.
