In this general election the number of voted polled by the UPFA in 20 districts have come down

When analysis is made comparing the number of votes polled by the United Peoples Freedom Alliance in the concluded presidential election on the 08th of January and the general election concluded on the 17th of August it is clearly seen that te total number of votes polled had dropped in 20 districts.

The number of 58 lakhs polled by the UPFA had been reduced to 47 lakhs which has diminished by 11 lakhs.The most reduction has been observed from the election results fro Nuwara Eliya and the Polonnaruwa districts
