Case against Arjun Mahendran governor of the Central Bank also withdrawn
It is learnt that the cases file in the Magistrate’s courts against the governor of the Central bank of Ceylon Arjun Mahendran and his son in law Arjun Aloysius for the offence of illegal issue of
treasury bonds at the Central Bank of Sri Lanka too have been withdrawn when the ceases were taken up today at the Magistrate courts today.
The reason has been that the petitioner has withdrawn the cases. However a lawyer who turned up at the Chief Magistrate’s courts had said that against these two a case is filed in the Bribery and Corruption investigation unit.
As a case is pending at the bribery and corruption investigation unit the Chief magistrate Gihan Pilapitiya has allowed the petitioner to withdraw the case filed at the Chief Magistrate’s courts.
