The restraining court order on COPE report of Sujeewa lifted

A petition was filed in the magistrate’s courts by the deputy minister of Justice Sujeewa
Senasinghe in refraining from making the contents of the COPE report before it was tabled in parliament before the Speaker.

Considering the facts stated in the petition as the purpose in releasing the cope report was to obtain political mileage. The restraining order not to release the cope report was only until the 23rd instant. The Magistrate of the Colombo district courts Sumith Perera had advised the petitioner deputy Minister Sujeewa Senasinghe to withdraw the restraining order and ordered the respondents to appeal against this order on the 30th instant.
