Incomplete reports on Central Bank bond issue to gain political mileage banned by courts:
In regard to the alleged irregular issue of Central Bank treasury bonds and the report that had to be
presented to the parliament in respect of the report of the parliamentary committee pertaining to common public enterprises (COPE) had been incomplete. This report had been considered incomplete but had been presented in order to gain political mileage was the view of many. With a judiciary order today , the 16th instant had made a restraining order in publishing the report.
It is a norm that before it is presented to parliament it cannot be made known to the general public. As it had been done the Colombo district courts had issued this order as it is very likely to obtain enormous political advantage as the normal procedure had not been adhered to.This restraining order is to be affective until the 23rd of July.
