POLICE NABS LADY IN BMW WHO LOST HER TEMPER .....

A lady who went into a rage and got involved in an argument with the police when she was being

issued a fine and then because of an incident where equipment of the said police officers were forcibly taken away was taken into custody today.

A lady who was holding and keeping a child on her lap and was driving a car with the other hand recently in Malabe area in the night was stopped by police officers and at the moment of issueing her a document to pay a fine she had expressed her protest against stopping her in this manner and demanding her for her licence. In that instance, it was said that she had not only shouted at the police officers in hot temper but had even taken away the documents and a helmet in possession of the two police officers, to show her indignation.

During the incident her husband too had been inside the vehicle and he was caring for the sick child and therefore did not mediate in this problem.

A video of a mobile phone about this incident was shown across the internet during the past few days. The lady concerned and her husband were taken into custody by Talangama Police today. The complaint against her is taking away books and driving licences etcetera and the police helmet which had been in the possession of a police sergeant. Her husband came over to the police and after expressing his apologies about what his wife did had then handed over the police documents and the helmet saying that his wife had been suffering from an illness. Whatever it is, they are expected to be produced before Kaduwela Magistrate's Court.
