GIVE UP DEPUTY MINISTER PORTFOLIOS

As a consequence of President Maithripala Sirisena speaking against Mahinda and his clan as

Chairman of UPFA, 3 individuals of SLFP who were given Deputy Minister positions have notified of their resignation. Their idea is that they cannot be partners of a government operated by Maithripala Sirisena and UNP.

The 3 persons are Sudarshani Fernandopulle, Lasantha Alagiyawanna and Eric Wijeywardena. Deputy Minister Lalith Dissanayaka addressed the media yesterday and had informed that he too is prepared to hand over his resignation. Mahinda Amaraweera has said that he is ready to give up his career in politics. Even if they do not resign in this manner, the Minister portfolios of these individuals are to be cancelled in about 5 weeks more. That would be when the new government take their oaths.
