DR. NILANGA WHO FORWARDED 'KUDU' POLITICAL LIST .....
FACES DEATH THREAT!
President Dr. Nilanga Samarasingha of Dangerous Drugs Control Board who said that he was willing to forward a list
before nominations are called of politicians involved in the drugs and intoxicants racket is now facing death threats, it is reported.
According to his list, several big shots of both UPFA and the UNP have been targetted. When preparing their list, Minister Wijedasa Rajapaksha recently said that those names had been removed from the UNP from the list. Though it was not stated that the UPFA had requested for those lists they had taken steps to delete certain MPs. As such, Dr. Nilanga's revelation became useful to most people.
There had been threats by those who came on motor bicycles on two occasions to Dr. Nilanga Samarasingha's house in Ragama as reported as a subsequence of which he had lodged a complaint with Ragama Police. However, no suspects have been taken into custody in this respect. Though he had made an appeal to the IGP and Ministry of Public Peace, no action to provide safety to him has been taken until yesterday (19).
Since an issue has developed in the presence of these threats, sources close to him say that the doctor is making plans to leave the country.
