------------ THIRD STORY -------------
BMW LADY'S HUSBAND HAS DRINKS WITH TRAFFIC OFFICER THAT NIGHT .....
TO SHAPE UP ISSUE!
ATTEMPT MISFIRES BECAUSE OF INTERNET
Two days after the first incident of the video with details about the lady who was taken into custody
for having driven the vehicle while breast-feeding close to Slit Institute in Malambe recently, was published, The incident where she was taken into custody was reported across the media. But by now a third chaper has been added to that story which incidentally is the situation that has arisen with the husband of the said lady approaching the police and has had a boozing session with the police officers with the motive of 'shaping up' the issue.
Therefore, inside sources reveal that higher officers are to take disciplinary action against the behaviour of the Talangama Police Officers. As reported, the incident is as follows:
After the lady who was driving while engaged in the act of breast-feeding came under the inspection of the police had gone into an argument because a fine was being imposed on her and she had then removed the helmet and documents of a police officer and come home when her husband having understood the gravity of her action had become shocked. He had by profession been the owner of a construction firm and had not been surprised over the ignorance about the legal side where his wife was concerned because she had also been undergoing treatment for a mental sickness. The husband who brought her medical reports, and items which she forcibly grabbed from the police officers that very night had met the officer-in-charge of Talangama Police and had explained her mental condition to him. He had further apologised to him on behalf of his wife and promised that such an incident would not be repeated.
However the incident of forcibly removing the paraphernalia of police officers by then had been recorded on the police book; therefore it had become an offence which cannot be settled amicably and had to be directed to courts. The officer-in-charge had then summoned the officers of the traffic division and asked them whether they were willing to accept the apology of the husband made on behalf of the wife and thus bring the case to a settlement. They had then discussed the matter and come to an agreement to bring the matter to a settlement. Overcome with joy because of this decision the businessman-husband had invited the two police officers to enjoy a drink with him at his expense, it is learned. It was however reported that this invitation was although extended to both of them, only one officer had acceded to participate. Subsequently it was reported that the two of them had spent several hours at a nightclub in Thalawatugoda and all that had been to the tune of Rs. 35,000.
Whatever it is, a video clip which found its way into the internet blocked the story ending on that note. Because this video began to hover about social websites, this incident came into the attention of higher officers and it is understood that the officer-in-charge had inquired about it. As such, the police had to take the said lady into custody with the chapter that was closed being opened again. Further it is now reported that problems could emerge for the Talangama police officers trying to cover up the incident.
