After Sanath, Thilanga, Eric and Wijaya took their oaths last

afternoon as new Deputy Ministers, it is understood that Mr. D.M. Jayaratna had been bestowed the Post of Senior Advisor to President Maithripala Sirisena and that he had received his relevant appointment letter after meeting the President.

Information sources from the President's quarter has revealed that this appointment has been conferred as a gesture of gratitude to 'Dimu' Jayaratna for being one of the oldest members of the SLFP. It is the opinion of political critics that a tussel is taking place between Mahinda - Maithri sectors on behalf of the cold war for the purpose of increasing each others lots more than on bestowing positions to rule the country.
