From Jaffna high security zone 59 army units withdrawn
The commanding officer of the army in charge of Jaffna high
security zone Major General Nandana Udawatta had said that 59 army units that were functioning in the Jaffna area have been withdrawn to date.
This withdrawal of the security army units had commenced in the year 2009 and had been happening since then uninterrupted gradually.
At the time of the completion of the civil war had been 152 security units and after the gradual withdrawal the number has been reduces to 93.
The commanding officer Major General Nandana Udawatta had added that this withdrawal would not affect the chances and possibility of the LTTE raising their heads once more. He had informed that complete security has been established to prevent such an occurrence again.
