Armed thugs attack the residence of Kurunegala Mayor

The residence of the Kurunegala Mayor Gamini Peramunage had been attacked by a four armed

gang of thugs last night the 04th instant. This was reported by the Mayor himself.

It is reported that a hotel close to the Mayor’s house also had been attacked. Those who attacked have been identified. The gang identified had been found to have a business connected with illegal prostitution and indulged in abortions. The Mayor had said that for opposing such activities may have been the reason for the attack.
