Fire at Maradana bakery claims 03 lives

A bakery located close to the Maradana Elphinstone Theatre and in

the vicinity of Kaleel’s nursing home had caught fire and caused damage to the entire building. Owing to the fire which had broke out around 2 p.m today there had been a terrible confusion in the area.

In the fire three workers had been rescued and two had succumbed to death owing to burn injuries. Another person who was struggling to escape was tried to be rescued by the personnel of the fire brigade but had also died.

It is reported that 08 fire brigades had been deployed to bring the fire under control.The fire which broke inside the bakery had spread to a adjoining room in the same building.

Owing to the fire it is reported that there had been a huge traffic jam on the road in front and beyond in the afternoon.
