An unfortunate incident was reported of an

instance which went as far as a murder based on vengeance and short-temper not being able to share presents transacted among relatives for the Avurudu festival these days.

A news where a younger brother was not able to divide some clothing received for the Avurudu was motivated to kill his elder brother was reported from Mulliaweli area. The conflict that arose between two brothers over some presents of clothing brought to the home by visitors later continued to end up as a quarrel inside the home when on that occasion the younger brother had struck the elder brother by throwing an electric iron in the house at him. The elder brother had collapsed on the floor as a result of the blow that struck his head seriously after which he had passed away. In this case the 19 year old elder brother died while the younger brother aged 17 years was apprehended by the police.
