Even when winning the World Cup ....
deceased Hughes's soul was with us
- Michael Clarke says
Cricket captain Michael Clarke who bade goodbye
took steps to reminisce once again sensitive memories which everybody had forgotten of Philip Hughes who passed away as a result of a ball striking his head last November when he was a member of the Australian team at the moment when Australia clinched the World Cup. What he said was that even upto the last game Philip Hughes remained with them in their memory.
"After the death of Philip on every occasion that I represented the team I played by wearing a black band. That was as an honour for him. During the past few months all of us were terribly shocked over his demise. We played for this World Cup not with 15 players .... but with 16. Everybody had the feeling that Philip was always with us. We celebrate this victory on behalf of him. Just like everyone else this boy too liked parties .... we enjoy with him".
Michael Clarke broke down in the presence of the media not being able to bear his comrade's untimely death and even had delivered a speech at the funeral of Hughes, bringing a tear into the eyes of everyone present.
