Asian awards in UK for ....

Sanga, Sharuk, Sayan, Malik

It was Kumar Sangakkara from Sri Lanka who was given an award for his success in Sports at

the 5th Asian Awards Festival held last night at Grosvenor House Hotel, England.

This festival which is conducted annually by the magazine publication 'Asian UK' published in England which incidentally has an Indian foundation  on those who achieved special focus in a distinguished manner in the Asian Zone in various selected fields, in each of the relevant years.

While Sangakkara was focused upon in the field of Sports this time, the following received their awards in their respective fields:

• Sharuk Khan for the Cinema
• Sayan Malik for Music
• Sir Teginger Singh Veerdi for Science and Technology
• Sanjeewa Bashkar for Rupavahini
• Hinduja Brothers for Business Ownership
• Gopi Gopalakrishnan for Best Entrepreneur.

A special appreciation was bestowed on Dr. Amer Boss. It was Sanga who was the Sri Lankan cricketer who became the second recipient of the award at this festival held annually while prior to him it was Muththiah Muralitharan who claimed this award in the year 2011.
