Akmeemana Dayaratne thera and 33 others served summons on Kuragala incident

The other day for provoking religious conflicts

over the Kuragala, the President of the Ravaya Organisation Ven Akmeemana Dayaratana thera and 33 others have been served with summons to appear before the Balangoda Magistrate courts.

Accordingly all 33 persons including some bikkhus along with the Ven Akmeemana Dayaratna thera have been requested to be present at the Balangoda Magistrate’s courts on the 28th April for creating a conflict situation at Kuragala on the 04th of last month.

They had flouted Police warnings had demonstrated at Kuragala.Police had even used high tension water spraying and they had not heeding to police instructions.

Ven Akmeemana Dayaratne thera had said that they had come not to stage a protest but to clear the sacred area and to place a Buddha statue.
