A girl's naked body floats ....

in a pond near Walking Tracks in Madampe

Before a few days has elapsed after the report of a woman

being murdered indefinitely in Kahawatta discovered from a lake, another girl's dead body had been found near the Walking Track in Madampe in a pond.

Most persons in the area had made use of the Walking Track in Madampe which had been opened sometime back and every morning in the early hours daily they had used it for exercise purposes as a habit. A person who was passing on that track in the morning near the pond there had noticed the sight of a woman floating nude in the causeway which had frightened him. Though he suspected initially that she may be bathing, on closing in on at the location he had realised that she was floating in a calm manner. He then having got together with people in the area and after inspecting the situation had informed the police about this.

The Madampe Police who received a call to the Police Emergency No. 119 so early in the morning had examined the incident at that spot and had found this naked dead body which was floating face up. A female blouse presumably that of the said victim could be found on a bench on the Walking Track strip. There had also been a toothpaste tube close to the spot. Further, a cake of soap also was found at the pool where the victim was found. In the meantime, it was reported that some blood stains were seen along the Walking Track about 100 meters away from where her body was found.

The police suspect that there are signs that point towards rape and murder. The police have still not been able to identify her.

Further investigations about the incident are underway.
