5 Central Committee members of SLFP ....

who went to Ratnapura Rally to make Mahinda the premier .... out!

President of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party, Maithripala Sirisena took measures to throw out five members from his Party's central committee. Those five were Salinda Dissanayaka, S.M. Chandrasena, Bandula Gunawardene, T.B. Ekanayaka and Rohitha Abeygoonawardena. Though they have not been expelled from the SLFP membership they no longer belong to the central committee. Since trying to make Mahinda Rajapaksa the prime minister through other 'bankrupt' Parties of the Alliance which are not of the SLFP is an attempt to split the SLFP, The central committee arrived at a decision recently not to afford support to it last 5th; however, these five parliamentarians had violated that decision and had participated in rallies held in Kandy, and Ratnapura together with some others. Of these five, Salinda Dissanayaka has attended both those rallies while the other four had attended only the Ratnapura rally.

As the President of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party, President Maithripala Sirisena has placed his signature to the letters ousting them from the central committee and those had been directed to them and they had confirmed that they had received those communications. The President has had no obstacle in taking such a decision according to the constitution of that party.
