The small old airplane which was found when hidden at the Narahenpita Economic Centre and which became the subject of discussion sometime back which incidentally had been
produced by Dr. Ray Wijewardena, a famous Scientist who lived in Sri Lanka was officially handed over today (12) to the Sri Lankan Air Force.
This airplane which was hitherto stored in the CSN warehouse of the Narahenpita Wholesale Complex had been gifted to film producer Mr. Chandran Ratnam and he in turn had presented it to Yoshitha, it was revealed at investigations.
The court order was to hand it over to Dr. Ray Wijeywardena. As such, Dr. Ray Wijeywardena's daughter accepted it on his behalf and later decided to give it to the Air Force Museum. Accordingly the presentation of the airplane was handed over to that Commanding Officer concerned today. After it is brought back to its modern state, it is expected to be kept on display at Air Force Museum.
