Member of Parliament ‘Sarana’ remanded for cheating Rs 96 lakhs
The former deputy minister, United People’s Freedom Party ,
present member of parliament of the opposition Sarana Gunawardena has been remanded until the 23rd of March by the Magistrate Raath Kavindya of the Magistrate courts Attanagalla on the charges of a complaint made for cheating a sum of rupees 96 lakhs.
The criminal investigation unit had summoned him for interrogation and on charges of cheating made and on the findings had produced him to Attanagalla courts.
