Arjuna regains his SLFP membership
The Minister of ports and aviation Arjuna Ranatunga
has regained his SLFP membership which he lost in mid 2010.
After captaining the Sri Lanka cricket team which won the World Cup in 1996 and his contribution to cricket therafter had gained the Membership of the SLFP in the year 2001 when he came into politics following the footsteps of his father former Minister Reggie Ranatunga and the present Chief Minister of the Western provincial council Prasanna Ranatunga until mid 2010 when he joined Sarath Fonseka's Democratic party and in year 2012 became an Independent Member of parliament.
