Media had given more than enough publicity to the incident which took place when the Indian Prime

Minister Narendra Modi visited the ‘Ruwanveli Maha Seya’ in Anuradhapura on the 14th instant when he was on his official tour of Sri Lanka.

During this visit to worship ‘Maha Ruwanveli Seya ‘he had removed his shoes and had entered the ‘Seya’ premises. In contrary the divisional secretary of Anuradhapura has had scant respect for this most divine place had been stubborn enough not to remove his shoes. As a punishment for paying scant respect for ‘‘Maha Ruwan Veli Seya’ he has been transferred out from his station.
