Tissa Attanayaka sent to remand for 9 days!

Former General Secretary of the UNP and former Minister of Health of the Alliance Party Minister Tissa Attanayaka who was taken into
custody on suspicion of having prepared false documents saying that there is a Ranil-Maithree Agreement has been ordered by Colombo Fort Magistrate Jayantha Dias Nanayakkara to be remanded till the next 11th.

The CID has informed courts that the false document which was spoken of for purposes of popularity by Mr.Attanayaka was found and confirmed to be a bogus one, on investigations carried out. The CID also said that if the suspect was given bail there would be a possibility that witnesses maybe influenced and as a large crowd would be alert about this incident, there could be public unsettlement if the suspect is bailed out.

If he is found guilty of preparing false documents, he could be sentenced to a jail term of 7 years as stated in the Penal Code.
