Sudarman who created Maithree-Chamila 'mud' story called to courts!

An incident of Presidential Candidate Maithreepala Sirisena detaining the mother named Chamila and using her son and husband for a
bogus 'mud' news item was broadcast over the National Rupavahini and ITN with the intention of slinging mud on the Common Candidate. This 'mud' news item was created by former Deputy General of the News Division of ITN, Sudarman Radaliyagoda. Sudarman who committed various injustice with the attitude 'whatever is done ... there's no problem from the law' had got the opportunity of engaging in low-grade media creations without any fear or suspicion without evading any punishment. 

At the hearing today at Colombo Magistrate Court where the case of creating a news item of an insultory nature against Presidential Candidate Maithreepala Sirisena, the police informed courts that the creator responsible for the said news item was found to be Sudarman Radaliyagoda. Since it was possible that he would avoid being present in courts at the next hearing, the Colombo Magistrate ordered that he be prohibited from travelling travel abroad, temporarily.

In the referred to news item, one Janaka Susila Kumara, supposed to be the husband of Chamila had appeared in front of the TV saying that the present President Maithreepala Sirisena who contested as the Common Candidate and who is also known as 'Sudu Aiyya' during the last Presidential Election period, is detaining a mother known as Chamila and it is this very same Maithreepala Sirisena and had said that the Minister has an illegal lliason with Chamila.

The second item attached to this news item said that Chamila's son is imprisoned and an appeal is made by the child while crying, asking that she be rescued. That too was broadcast over Rupavahini news. However nothing was mentioned beyond that about any inquiry or description in those channels as to whether there actually was a connection between the Presidential Candidate and Chamila and whether she was really imprisoned. This then was a news item that was woven and created solely for the sake of bringing upon displeasure on the candidate Maithrepala Sirisena.

When this incident was taking place, a mother named Chamila Kumari Dissanaika had gone to the Kandy Police headquarters and Child and Women's Division and had made a complaint saying that what this child says is all false and he had been abducted by the father and had further been imprisoned for the purpose of gaining political benefits and these things are being told by him with that intention.

This child supposed to be known as Pavithra Kulasekera from Hingurakgoda Royal College had been in the company of the child's grandmother on which occasion he had been cheated and taken away and news was circulated that his mother had been kept by force and a video clip was shown with the child crying and appealing asking that the mother be released. She incidentally had seen the child later from Rupavahini news.

The police had forwarded a B Report of her complaint to Colombo No. 9 Magistrate Court after her complaint. The case regarding that complaint was heard today.
