Harin takes oaths as Chief Minister of Uva

Mr. Harin Fernando, who was the former Opposition leader of Uva Provincial Council took his oaths as the Chief Minister of Uva Province at
the auspicious moment of 1.14 p.m. in the presence of District Governor Mr. Nanda Matthew. 

Harin came into the limelight among people as the turning point of diverting the political power for the present UNP in Sri Lanka by collecting the highest number of Preferential votes at the last Uva Provincial Council elections.

In association with the political power change over it was seen that Chief Minister Sashindra Rajapaksha was losing his grip and the Uva Province sittings was postponed saying that he was 'cold' and those who went to him once again started approaching Harin resulting in the change of power.
