Wife in Colombo .... I am in Kurunegala
Even now I get SMS from females asking "How can I meet you?"
Connection with Rosy ended up on bitter note!
-- Dayasiri Jayasekera reveals
Speaking over a radio channel programme, North-West Provincial Council Chief Minister Dayasiri Jayasekera said that there were so many various females who made proposals to him with intentions of starting an illicit affair with him.
However, he exposed that he turned a blind eye on those matters and thus maintained his status and that the connection he had with Rosy was only a rumour which he said was a wrong interpretation and that it just fizzled out on a bitter note.
Ideas expressed by him are as follows: "According to the position I am in now .... even five hundred rumours may scatter around .... but I live very carefully. I get a large number of SMS. If those come as, "Hi, how are you?" Whatever I give as a reply, I too get a reply back, "I want to see you .... How can I talk to you? How can I personally talk to you?" In the same way I get, "How can I meet you?" I get even serious one. I shape up those in a balanced way and wash my hands off.... otherwise it'll end up as a problem or else it's an issue. I have to live in peace, no.
It's my wife who looks after the children. She's in Colombo.... I am in Kurunegala. But I am never prepared to tarnish my image in North West Province any day. There are numerous rumours. I also have something called a personal life of mine.
Rosy actually helped me a lot. I met her around 2001. That was a time we worked together in the UNP. At my election she got down and worked. After that, during her election time I also helped. After that, when she comes to parliament of course the connection increased. All those things are combined. But it reached a stage where it became a bitter situation.
Some tended to interpret it in different terms. Because of this, the attachment both of us had with each other collapsed on various levels. When I crossed over from the Opposition to the Government Party, I think it all came to a finale.
I have no necessity to look the other way from her .... at any time. But there were times about the manner of behaviour .... and at the same time certain things where rumours were made, which became a big issue. I think it would be easy if those things are diverted to the better side of my life.
