How Channa found the new actress Jasmin

We brought you pictures of the newest film actress chosen by Channa Perera a few days ago for his latest film 'Chamathka'. To inquire about that film and about that actress we spoke to Channa.

*Hello .... this is from Gossip Lanka. We heard that Channa has begun a film once more again .... who is this new actress?
 Yes ... yes ... I am trying to launch something again. Her name is Jasmin Bhasingh .... she's from New Delhi. Her age is 23. She has acted in a number of Indian films. She has experience in Telegu cinema also. Her parents are also from India.


*From where did you find her?
 We went to New Delhi for this purpose alone. We had an interview and there were about 30 or 40 who came. But the only one whom we found suitable was this girl. It was from those who came that Jasmin was selected.

*Why are you choosing actresses from India alone? Aren't there actresses in Sri Lanka who suit you?
 It's like this. Write exactly the way I tell you. I was looking for a new face .... not beauty or ugliness .... someone who could do some work for both as a new face and new mode of acting.

*When are you going to start shooting?
 On the 4th of this month. Shooting will start from Colombo. Shooting will be done in Colombo and Rambukkana. 'Chamathka' means a musical love story.

*About how much will the work cost?
 I think about 200 lakhs. Can't tell that right now.

Rangana's artiste party .... a record!

Copy Chat broadcast over Hiru Channel which presents a dialogue among artistes has become a popular programme. Its 100th programme is to be held next Sunday at a hotel  in association with a commemoration party. We asked about it from Rangana de Silva who presents this programme to the public.

*Hello Rangana .... this is from Gossip Lanka. So, how are the arrangements for the 100th commemoration of the programme?
 We'll be starting the programme Live at 10 in the night on Sunday .... at Hilton Hotel with 300 artistes. All artistes who appeared in this programme from the first one upto now are invited to participate on this occasion. We are hoping to conduct this programme by introducing some new competitions. Specially, this will be the first time that a crowd of this number will be participating in a rupavahini programme .... on the same day ... at the same time.

*Now 100 programmes have been done ....aren't there any moments when any tiffs have taken place with artistes?
 Not that there aren't .... since I maintain cordial relationships with everyone and I am close to them, everyone is o.k. with me.
 Once in a way some look around and frown. At a recent programme .... when I was introducing Amal .... I spoke about the albino turtle. I thought that Amal will lose his temper. But it didn't happen that way. I know how to maintain people within the programme.

*Actually .... how do you keep the artistes that way?
 I impart religious knowledge to daham pasal students every Sunday at the daham pasala in our town Kolonnawa at the Rajamaha ViharaI am the Principal of the daham pasala. There I have had many experiences there. After I joined the media, I have associated with both artistes as well as many others very intimately. So .... combining the knowledge I received from all these, it was possible to manage everything within the programme with a conducive environment of that type.
