Roshan Ranawana had given artificial respiration to .... Muthu Tharangana
A talk about tele-actor giving artificial respiration to tele-actress Muthu Tharanga by keeping mouth to mouth was recently heard of. This was supposed to have been done for a scene in a tele-drama.

We phoned Muthu to ask about this incident. What is surprising is that by this time Muthu had contacted a mouth ailment.

*Hello .... this is from Gossip Lanka .... isn't it Muthu who's speaking?
 Yes .... mm .... I feel difficult now.

*Why are you feeling like that?
 No .... I am having a boil inside my mouth .... can't even talk!

*Muthu .... what is the talk about this artificial respiration? Now you've got a wound in your mouth also isn't it? 
 No.... no .... that has no connection to this ailment. It's this .... that happened during shooting of the drama Sidangana. There's one scene where I am in a coma. At that point Roshan comes and gives artificial respiration. That's what happened.

A song dansela from Beg's son Illyaz

We came to know that Illyaz Beg, younger son of Late popular singer Mohideen Beg who had carved a name for singing Buddhist religious songs was hoping to hold a song dansela on behalf of the Vesak season. We inquired about it.

*Hello .... this is from Gossip Lanka .... Illyaz, what is this new type of dansela?
 Our father takes pride of place as a singer of Buddhist religious songs no .... so father sang those songs without thinking of a race, religion or caste.I'll be launching a song dansela to distribute 1000 CDs free to once again refresh memories of our father to pandals and danselas.

*Was there any sponsor?
 For this type of work there are no sponsors no .... so it is to the best of my ability that I did this much. Please forgive me for releasing only 1000 CDs. If I became a millionaire I would give CDs free to everyone by going to his house itself .... to those who loved my father. I should do it for everybody who loved my father .... as his son. But it didn't happen so.

*So what are your new developments?
 Our Colombo Beg Music Centre was broken down because of the Development Process of Colombo. Therefore we'll be shifting our Beg Music Centre to Kiribathgoda side.I also did a new song.

*What is that new song?
 I did a new original song for this CD as the son,having thought of my father. That song was written by Shaluka Madushanka. Music by Sameera Subhasingha.

Thumindu had married in secret

Popular stage artiste and actor Thumindu Dodanthenna entered into marriage recently. It was also understood that the wedding was celebrated in a simple manner. To inquire about it we spoke to Thumindu.
*Hello .... this is from Gossip Lanka .... Thumindu, is it true that you got married on the sly?
 Yes .... we got married on the 6th of last January. We celebrated our wedding in a simple manner at Colombo Cinnamon Hotel.

*Was there any reason to have a simple wedding?
 It's like this. I invited friends, relations and everybody connected to the cinema closest to me. I didn't want to get publicity for my wedding. In short, I don't want my wedding to become another project. What I want is to build up a nice family and live in a decent way.

*Details about your wife?
 She is a fan of mine. We've met when she came to see one of my dramas. She's Kalani Wilson .... a Catholic. She's an artist. She was somewhere around Mattakkuliya. Now both of us are at Mattegoda in our small nest. 

*What are your activities these days?
 The drama Arundathi will be produced again and it will be staged at Lionel Wendt on May 22nd. Apart from that I will be doing my Degree on Drama on Drama and Acting.
