Because of the fact that equipment where CCTV footage could be secured are now available at many shops, it has been possible to report when thieves break into shops via videos.
Seen below is an incident where a robber who came in the night to a phone shop in Avissawella some days ago and had remained in the shop for almost an hour, robbing almost everything inside.
The other scene reported is from a dress shop in Kirindiwela where a clique of boys had entered a shop when it was open. At that point one of the boys had most strategically made the attention of a female, the proprietor of the shop go astray while the other boys had walked about the shop, thus packing up clothes in the shop, with one boy also hiding a pair of shoes in his person.
