Police find two schoolgirls at bus-stand in midnight

Two intoxicated schoolgirls of reputed school dressed in short dress .... at bus-halt in midnight!

Two students of reputed schools in Colombo were observed by police standing at a bus-halt in Maharagama around 2 in the morning, dressed in short skirts and tee-shirts yesterday (Mar 7) and were subjected to questioning.

On questioning the two girls  who appeared somewhat intoxicated had said that they had been to a hotel in Maharagama to attend a friend's birthday party and had come to this bus-halt after the party was over and were awaiting a bus.

It was learnt that these students were aged 18 and 17 years respectively and one of them had sat for her O/Ls last year while the other was sitting for her O/L this year..

It was also understood that the police were able to note about 6 playboys loitering around the bus-halt where the two girls were.  The police further say that if they did not appear on the scene, these two students would possibly be preyed upon by this gang on the presumption that the girls were twilight women.

On interrogation it was revealed that the father of one student was a high official of the army and was devoid of the protection of her mother. It was reported that the mother of the other student was ailing and that the father was not among the living.

Finally, the two students were sent away after their guardians were summoned and advised.
