No Chandrika ... no Shirani in list of Strongest Sri Lankan Women ...... but Paba is there
At a media briefing held yesterday (Mar 3), parliamentarian Ajith P. Perera brought forward his views over a book which had been on sale at Deyata Kirula.
This book had been published by Child Development and Women's Affairs Ministry in the year 2012 and Mr. Ajith Perera pinpointed the fact that a list of the Strongest Women who graced the land so far were included in the list.
Though the name of Upeksha Sandamali has been included in the list, names of Madam Chandrika Bandaranaika who ruled the country for a period of 11 years nor the first Lady former Chief Justice Mrs. Shirani Bandaranaika do not appear in the list, he revealed.
Though each person may have his or her political views or other opinions, he said that it was a pathetic to note that the history of Sr Lanka was buried in this manner by a publication issued by a ministry of the government.
