A lady who came to a shop in a supermarket in Galle down Gamini Mawatha to buy a telephone charger, after perusing the articles had in the night once more returned and had entered the closed shop, robbing 32 mobile phones to the value of Rs. 34,209 and also cash amounting to Rs. 4,000. She had later changed her clothes and had even slept in the shop itself and left in the morning hours.

Since all scenes of this activity were recorded on the CCTV cameras installed in the shop, the police were ale to track her. It later came to be known that she was a resident of Bataduwa area in Galle and was 28 years of age.

The suspect had gained entry to the shop by breaking open the door on December 5th at approximately 11.30 in the night and had left the shop at about 4 in the morning after robbing the mobile phones.

It was revealed that this lady had first entered the shop on the same day at 4.19 in the evening in order to purchase a phone charger.

The shop-owner had lodged a complaint with the police about the robbery and the suspect has been taken into custody and is being interrogated.
